Who We Are What We Are

Back to the writing.  Made a big move on The Handbook two days ago and am happy to let that rest for a while as I do final tweaking on the quantum physics article and get it out there.  Here we go.

Big hospice day.  I’m exhausted.  Talking to dying people and their families all day long is tiring.  But so energizing at the same time.  And so rewarding.  I will sleep well tonight.

So I went to write a new section for The Handbook and discovered that I’d already written it several years ago in another form that I merely have to edit and bring over.  How awesome is that.  Busy, busy, busy… and loving it.

At the start of the new month a reminder of why this blog was put forth to begin with.  One reason was simply the discipline of posting every day for an entire year starting on January 1 and continuing right through till December 31.  So far, I haven’t missed a beat.  However, the purpose of the content was to chronicle the events regarding my philosophy and writings and to keep me focused on what I’m trying to do and how I’m trying to do it.   So, here’s where we stand at the moment.

I’ve finished, Shredding the Event Horizon, the article relating consciousness studies and quantum physics, finished Tao of the New Consciousness, the collection of 81 verses paralleling the original Tao, and am 85% through with Handbook of the New Consciousness, the do-it-yourself book allowing others to share this new way of experiencing reality.  I have made contact with Open Ideo through Re:Imagine End of Life, although the connection is somewhat tenuous, and made real serious contact with Aging With Dignity, the organization behind the internationally known and respected Five Wishes. Still two months to go and hopefully, like an asymptotic function, things will shoot up even stronger the closer we get to the end.  Fun.

What a day.  Great meeting with the President of Aging With Dignity, went for a six mile walk between appointments, got some hearing aids put in, and all on Halloween to boot.  And none of this was on the agenda as little as a week ago.  Life is amazing.

Big progressive dinner passing through our apartment today… 33 adults and 16 children.  We’re hosting the main course.  Should be fun.  Meanwhile, even as I lie here on the couch trying to nap, I keep thinking about my meeting tomorrow with the President of Aging with Dignity and the best way to share my work with them.  We will just have to flow and see how it unfolds. And that goes for the dinner, too.

ps.  I expect to have some fabulous leftovers.

So I was just emailing a friend from high school who is involved with the group Aging With Dignity, who are the people who put out the Five Wishes for old people to use to tell family and friends about what they want done at end of life. She was very interested in the talk I just gave on The Art of Dying Peacefully, and introduced me online to the president of AWD who is out here in San Francisco for a conference.  He, too, is interested and we have a meeting set up on Monday morning over coffee.  We fit together perfectly, my teachings and their organization.  Is this an example of how when things are right they just fall into place?

Surprise!!!   Just went outside to discover that our car has been towed for overhanging someone’s driveway.  Sigh!  May this be the worst thing that happens all year.

Busy day today.  Just finished six hours of hospice visits and will be leaving shortly for the venue where I will be speaking on New Consciousness and the Art of Dying Peacefully as part of the Bay Area’s Re:Imagine End of Life Week.  Fortunately, there is time in between these two events for a short nap.  zzzzzzzzzzz.

Hard to believe that these posts actually started off at Day 1 and have not missed a beat since then. And I don’t even feel tired.  I can actually see the finish line and barring any unforeseen catastrophe, should make it happen.  And that’s what life is all about, after all, isn’t it.
