My wife is off at the vet’s with the cat.  She… the cat… not knowing any better… has been scratching her ear and has opened up some not very pretty sores which bleed and detract from the otherwise beautiful, serene  vision of a Siamese princess. She has been wearing a collar around her neck over the weekend which my wife put on her to protect her from herself until she could be taken down to the vet this morning.   It’s not her fault, of course, she’s just a cat and most likely doesn’t realize how the things she does to ease some annoying little itch can grow and grow into something that could really be a danger to her.

How many things, I wonder, do we humans do just as innocently, just as stupidly.
